Funfair Hire in Manchester
Manchester's parks, warehouses and city-centre squares host everything from Easter funfairs and cultural festivals to office Christmas parties, and each comes with its own rules and practicalities. We supply staffed fairground rides, side stalls and inflatables to venues in the city centre, Didsbury, Chorlton, Fallowfield, Rusholme, Levenshulme, Wythenshawe and Blackley, with our own crew handling the build, the running and the pack-down.
Funfairs in Manchester's Parks
The city's big green spaces each suit a different kind of event. Platt Fields Park in Fallowfield has a packed summer programme that includes an Easter funfair and the Manchester Mega Mela, a free South Asian festival with live music, food and fairground rides. Heaton Park in the north of the city is Grade II listed and takes everything from community fun days to large concerts, while Wythenshawe Park suits family days for south Manchester neighbourhoods.
For park events like these, a mix of high-capacity rides and side stalls keeps families moving. The Traditional Bumper Cars Dodgems Hire track takes a steady stream of riders, the Chair O Planes give younger children a gentle spin, and a row of fairground stalls and games fills the walkways between food traders.
What does Manchester City Council ask for before a park event?
Any organised event in a council park needs permission and an application. For smaller community events the council asks for a risk assessment, public liability insurance of at least £10 million and agreement to its terms and conditions. Larger events may go through the Safety Advisory Group, which the council says can take up to six months, so it is worth starting early.
Our paperwork is ready to go with your application. Every ride carries a current ADIPS certificate, our public liability cover is £10 million, and we write a site-specific risk assessment for your park and layout. We can also join pre-event meetings if the council or Safety Advisory Group would like to hear from the ride operator directly.
City-Centre Parties and Christmas Events
From Spinningfields offices to converted mills in Ancoats and the Northern Quarter, Manchester's venues host company summer parties and festive nights all year. Goods lifts, loading bays and tight access windows are part of the job, so we choose attractions that break down into manageable sections. The Traditional Carousel Indoor Carousel is built to be carried into venues, and the Waltzer Bar Hire turns a waltzer car into a bar that suits a function room.
December is especially busy, with the Christmas markets spreading through the city centre. A compact, well-lit attraction such as the Traditional Childrens Carousel works well for a festive pop-up or a winter staff party.
Student and University Events
With several universities and a huge student population around Oxford Road and Fallowfield, freshers' fairs and summer balls are a big part of the city's calendar. The Rodeo Bull and the Bubble Football Body Zorbs draw a cheerful crowd, and a Popcorn Stall keeps queues happy between sessions.
How do you handle Manchester weather?
We plan for rain as standard. Many of our rides run safely in wet weather, and for events that could move indoors we suggest attractions that fit through double doors, from table games to compact carousels. On soft park grass, Ground Protecting Boards give vehicles and visitors a firm route, and our generators cover any site without mains power, with fuel included.
