29 October 2026 - When to Order a Real Christmas Tree in 2026

How late can you order a real Christmas tree in 2026? At The Christmas Tree Firm, our aim is to keep delivering well into December throughout Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, but there is one important thing to remember: when a particular tree size or variety has sold out, it has sold out for the season.

We do not want to advertise an artificial "last delivery date" months in advance when Christmas tree availability can change as December progresses. Instead, we continue taking orders and running deliveries for as long as we have suitable trees available and space on our seasonal delivery routes.

If you already know the size and type of tree you want, ordering earlier gives you the best choice.

When Is the Best Time to Order a Christmas Tree for 2026?

There is no single date that suits everybody. Some customers like their tree up at the beginning of December, while others prefer to wait until closer to Christmas.

Our advice is simple: order once you know what tree you want and roughly when you want it delivered.

This is particularly important if you want a specific height from our Premium Nordman Fir range, one of our Norway Spruce Tree options, or a particularly large Christmas tree.

Popular household sizes can move quickly as Christmas gets closer, and the same applies to some of our larger trees. You can compare the current selection through All Christmas Trees.

Will You Still Be Delivering Late in December 2026?

That is certainly our intention.

Christmas does not begin on the same day in every household, so we continue working late into December rather than shutting our Christmas tree delivery service unnecessarily early.

However, late-season delivery is always subject to two things:

  • Tree availability: once a particular size or variety has sold out, we cannot guarantee another will become available.
  • Delivery capacity: December routes become increasingly busy, so available delivery options can reduce as Christmas approaches.

For that reason, customers who need an exact tree size should not rely on ordering at the last minute.

Is There a Final Christmas Tree Delivery Date?

We are not currently publishing one fixed final delivery date for Cambridgeshire or Bedfordshire.

Instead, we will continue delivering as late into December as stock and our delivery routes allow. If trees are still available and we can reasonably fit your address into an available route, we will do our best to get one to you.

When stock is gone, however, it is gone.

You can check Delivery Service and Areas Covered for more information, or call 07885 730150 if Christmas is getting close and you want to check current availability.

Free Christmas Tree Delivery in Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire

We offer free Christmas tree delivery throughout Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire on all of our Christmas trees, whatever size you choose.

Our regular service includes areas such as Cambridge, Bedford, Ely, Huntingdon, St Neots, Peterborough, Wisbech and Royston, along with many surrounding towns and villages.

Other areas are available too, so contact us if your postcode falls outside Cambridgeshire or Bedfordshire.

Should You Order Early If You Want a Large Christmas Tree?

Yes. Larger Christmas trees require more forward planning than a normal household tree.

If you are looking for a substantial tree for a church, school, hotel, business, entrance hall or public display, availability is only part of the equation. Access, unloading, tree support and installation requirements may also need to be considered.

See Large Real Christmas Tree Delivery if you are looking for a larger tree, or call our large-tree team on 07772 192461.

Our range runs through larger Premium Nordmann Fir sizes and includes Custom Size Tree 15ft-30ft for suitable bespoke projects.

What If Your Preferred Tree Size Sells Out?

We stock Christmas trees in many different heights, so there may still be a suitable alternative if your first choice is no longer available.

For example, if a particular 6ft-7ft tree has sold out, moving one size smaller or larger may still give you a tree that works well in the room.

Before ordering, measure your available ceiling height and floor width. Remember that the quoted tree height is measured from the base of the trunk to the tip, so your stand and topper will add extra height.

Nordmann Fir or Norway Spruce for Christmas 2026?

Our Premium and Standard Nordmann Fir trees are popular indoor choices because of their softer foliage and good needle retention when properly cared for.

For customers who prefer the traditional appearance and stronger Christmas tree fragrance of spruce, Norway Spruce Tree remains available for outdoor displays.

We also offer potted and rooted Christmas trees for customers looking for a living alternative.

Do Not Forget Your Christmas Tree Stand

If you are ordering a real tree, it is worth checking your stand at the same time rather than finding out on delivery day that the trunk will not fit.

Browse Christmas Tree Stands to compare available sizes. A water-holding stand also makes it much easier to keep a fresh-cut Nordmann Fir hydrated.

Once your tree is indoors, Tree Care Tips explains how watering and sensible positioning can help keep it looking its best.

What Happens to Your Tree After Christmas?

We can help at the other end of the season too. Recycle & Removal Service provides an option for customers who would prefer us to collect their undecorated tree after Christmas.

That means you can plan the whole life of the tree, from choosing and delivering it in December to dealing with it after the decorations come down.

Our Advice for Christmas 2026: Do Not Leave Your First Choice Too Late

We intend to keep the vans moving and Christmas trees going out to customers well into December 2026.

But Christmas trees are a seasonal, natural product. We cannot keep producing another 7ft, 8ft or 10ft tree simply because somebody needs one a few days before Christmas.

If you know exactly what you want, order early. If you are ordering later in December, check what is still available and we will do everything we reasonably can to help.
